Details
PASTURE ROAD 1. 5255 Glaed Hame TL 2131 SW 12/92 II GV 2. 1906 by B Parker and R Unwin. The most elaborate Parker and Unwin house to be found in the Garden City. Tudor style with open plan form. One and a half storeys. Main south front to garden with 3 gabled bays. Tiled roof with moulded brick stacks. Carved gable bargeboards to window bays. Roughcast with exposed studwork to first floor of bay windows. Former open sleeping gallery at east end replaced by 2 storey reinforced concrete extension of 1921, also by Parker and Unwin. Mullioned casement windows. Glazed French windows with added sidelights. Interior with hall, living room and dining room designed to be used as one space with concealed sliding doors between each room. Good interior joinery with hall inglenook retaining one of the former 2 settles. Brick fireplace (replacing former tiled surround) with copper hood.
