GV II
Lodge to Wrotham Park (q.v.). 1865 on datestone. For G. Byng, 2nd Earl of Strafford, by S.S. Teulon. Rockfaced, snecked Portland stone with ashlar dressings. Red brick stack. Green slate roof. 1 storey. Cruciform on plan, but asymmetrically composed. Gabled entrance in angle of main and cross blocks: a pointed arch in a chamfered surround, angle buttresses and a coped gable parapet. Lancets with transoms to front. All windows are leaded casements. Gabled cross block has relieving arch over double lancet. In gable datestone with AD under a coronet, kneelers and a ball finial pierced with quatrefoils - other windows and gables are similarly detailed. Canted bay on left return has ovolo moulded jambs. Intertwined S's in left gable. In rear angle of wing and main block a stack set diagonally with 2 diagonal shafts with oversailing courses and tumbled in brickwork. Interior not inspected.
