Range of barns. C17. Timber frames on red brick sills in English-bond, dark weatherboarded. Steep pitched slate roofs. A tall barn range of 10 bays in all facing E into yard. 3 bays S part now has gabled projecting E porch and opposed doors in the 3rd bay from the S. Jowled posts, long straight braces, mid-bay unjowled posts, mid-height rail jointed in-line, 2 clasped purlins to each slope of roof carried on a high collar and inclined queen-posts. 2 bays middle part has jowled posts, mid-bay posts, mid-height rail jointed in-line on E but staggered on W, heavy stepped jowls, 2 clasped purlins to each slope, carried on high collar with V-struts. N part of 5 bays has projecting gabled E porch and opposed double doors in 3rd bay from N. Narrower barn with E face in line with those to S. Jowled posts, unjowled mid-bay posts, mid-height rails in-line, tension braces down to rail. Long straight braces to slender tie-beams (some re-used). Single clasped purlin to each slope carried on collar with inclined queen-struts. Brick sill higher. Weatherboarded lean-to on E between the 2 porches.
