9/219 Nos 1 and 3 Beech Hyde Cottage

II

Pair of houses, formerly one large farmhouse. C16 timber frame, extended away from road with a gabled mid-C17 wing. Further extended c.1800. C20 rear extension, possibly incorporating early timber frame. Exposed framing to early part; C17 wing red brick with stone quoins. Plain tile roofs. Early part is 3 bays with 3 C20 glazing bar casements. Circa 1600 ridge chimney stack, the roof line higher to left and right, possibly a hall in this position. C17 wing has floor band and wide 3-light casement. Circa 1800 block has good doorcase with moulded panels and reveals. Leaded fan with husk swags. Plain pilasters with dentilled capitals. Dentilled and modillioned open pediment. 2 C19/20 glazing bar casements, the one next to the door with segmental head. Dentilled brick eaves. Low slate roof.
