GV II
House and attached outhouses. Late C17, renovated in C19 when outbuildings added. Brick built incorporating timber framing in rear wing and framed cross-partitions. Exterior roughcast. Steep old red tile roofs. Red brick outbuildings. An L-shaped, 2-storeys, cellar and attics, house facing W, with range of 1 1/2-storeys outbuilding extending to E from SE kitchen wing. Small 2-storeys block added next gabled stair tower in angle of the L with low former keeping cellar to rear. Symmetrical, 3 windows wide W front has smaller window over gabled porch. Casement windows. 3 gabled dormers on roofslope. Parapets to end gables. 3 windows to S side on each floor and side door with gabled hood on brackets. Large internal chimney in middle of W range with lobby entry on W and large stair tower on E. Framing of attic floor clasps the chimney. Chamfered cross-beams with ogee stops on ground floor. Kitchen wing on SE has parallel outshut on N, and E gable chimney with open fireplace. Service room to E half open to roof with E gable chimney. Closed string stair continues up to attic. Turned balusters, square newels with pendants and ball finials. C18 dentilled wooden fire surround with stone insert on 1st floor. Moulded plank doors and IL hinges to attics. Clasped-purlin roof structure with inclined queen-posts and cambered tie-beams at each gable. Plat-band on E gable of kitchen wing now inside adjoining outhouse.
