7/52 East gateway to churchyard, Church of St George
GV II Triple gateway. Early C19, possibly by Sir Jeffry Wyattville. Ham stone ashlar piers, wrot-iron gates. Four octagonal-plan piers with moulded plinths, panelled and gabletted tops, the centre piers taller with more elaborate tops: to sides, simple pedestrian gates with pointed-arched decoration to middle rails; matching central pair of gates, but with raked top rails and more pointed-arch ornament. Part of the setting of the important Church of St George (qv).
