5/283 Coach House and Stable Court to E of Childwick 19.9.78 Bury Manor

GV II

Coach house and stable court. 1890s. A 1-3 storey courtyard block mostly red brick with knapped flint panels. Front elevation with patterned tile hanging to flanking wings. Central frontispiece with stone dressed archways and roughcast panelled upper floor. Machine tile hipped roof. Front has glazing bar casements to upper floor and sashes to lower floor. 3 windows either side of frontispiece, each with eaves gable. 3 central arches with banded stonework, middle arch wider. Fine wrought iron gates, double to centre, single to sides; some gilded ornament. Above the gable is a tile-hung wooden clock turret with an ogee dome. Courtyard interior shows glazed office range on E side, stable ranges on N and S. The roofs have tile-hung ridge ventilators.
