6/88 Nos. 2 and 3, Plowden Hall -

GV II Probable former coach house and cottages, latterly laundry, now 2 cottages. Early to mid C18 with mid to late C19 alterations and additions to north. Coursed limestone rubble; remains of probably formerly overall roughcasting and late C19 slate roof. 2 storeys; raised quoins, and 3 late C19 brick stacks at rear. Slightly projecting centre; depressed- arched carriageway with ashlar surround, impost blocks, projecting dropped keystone, and late C19 glazing including two 2-panelled doors (bottom panels flush and top panels raised and fielded); corbelled cill to former blind Serliana above, truncated by C19 re-roofing. Flanking cottages; 2 window fronts; late C19 two-light casements with ashlar lintels and projecting dropped keystones; central 4-panelled doors (bottom panels flush and top panels raised and fielded) with 3-part overlights. Gable end to west: blind Serliana with keystone, and 2 steps to ground floor boarded door with ashlar lintel and projecting dropped keystone. Interior: probably late C19 dog-leg staircase in central part with stick balusters, square newel posts and moulded handrail. Late C19 kitchen range with segmental-arched lintel. c.f.
