House, sub-divided during C19. Late C16, C19 trim. Timber
frame roughcast with steep old red tile roof. A 2-storeys, 3-
cell, central-chimney, lobby-entry plan house facing S. End
jetty at E gable now underbuilt. Ornate ceiling to ground floor
hall in middle with unheated parlour on E, and service room at W
beyond chimney. Stair probably by chimney on N originally but
separate straight flights provided in end rooms in C19. 4-windows
front with old oak plank door in line with chimney a third from W
end. Rectangular bay window to left with gabled porch to door
next W corner. 3 3-light, flush casement windows to right.
Eaves project with plastered soffit. Interior has exposed close-
studding with curved tension-braces, chamfered axial joists in
parlour, double-roll moulded axial beam in hall with stop
chamfered joists (one with ovolo moulded chamfer on one side) and
double-roll moulded cross-beam next fireplace (part of chimney
lintol remains for open fireplace now blocked), holes for bench
supports in partition at upper end of hall, curved braces to tie-
beam next chimney on 1st floor, edge-halved scarf joints with
bridled butts in wall plates, clasped-purlin roof, and old
boarded doors with strap hinges to larder and rear door. A small
C16, 2-storeys, house of considerable quality.
