Theatre and arts centre, formerly stables to Dillington House (q.v). C18 or early C19, remodelled 1875 and in mid C20. Has stone ashlar south front, remainder roughly squared rubble; Welsh slate roof with serrated ridges, mostly hipped; some ashlar chimney stacks. Quadrangle form, with entrance to south; single storey except for east range, set on hillside and 2-storey with basement. South elevation 5 bays, totally of 1875: plinth, cornice moulding, plain parapet, rusticated quoins; 2-light cruciform panels to outer pairs of bays, the tops glazed; central bay a large non-classical semi-circular arch with entablature and pediment over, the keystone dated, with initial HV/IV intertwined; mounting blocks to base of each jamb. East elevation 3-storey, 3 bays, with single bay set at mid-level at south end; ground floor has segmental-arched openings, first floor 30-pane sash windows, and second floor 12-and 16-pane sashes in gabled dormers. Inner courtyard has 3 large segmental arches with boarded doors on north side; and east side has 3 bays, with two 20-pane sash windows in keystoned arches below, and 12-pane sashes in gables above, with central doorway with eared architrave and pediment on console brackets; west side matches the ground floor of the east side. In centre of courtyard an ornamental pool of C20. Interior reshaped c1960. Building of important group value with nearby Dillington House.
