GV II
House. Late C16, W chimney and floor in W part inserted in early C17, later C17 floor in E part, renovated in C19 with central stair, and external E gable chimney, and rear extension, mid C20 E exterior. Timber frame on plastered brick sill roughcast with a steep old red tile roof. A 2-storeys, end chimney, 3-cells,5 structural bays house facing S,with W gable to road. Narrow central bay with staircase and entrance, principal room on W heated, trimmer for older stair parallel with rear wall in E part. S front has 2 windows to each floor with gabled enclosed central porch. 2-light casement windows to 1st floor (renewed) and small 3-light oriels to Gd floor. Interior has exposed timbers, with close-studding and straight tension braces in rear wall, heavy flat axial joists in W part, chamfered axial beam in E part, clasped-purlin collar-truss roof, and large open fireplace in the W internal gable chimney with 2 niches with corbelled heads in rear wall and chamfered lintel with bar stops.
