Cottage. Mid-C17 with late C19 and mid-C20 alterations and additions.
Timber framed with painted brick nogging on painted brick and sandstone
rubble plinth; gable end to front rebuilt and extended to right in
painted brick. Plain tile roofs. Framing: square panels (3 from
sole plate to wall plate) with long straight tension braces. One long
and one short framed bay at right angles to road. One storey and attic
over basement. Shaped barge boards with finial. Large external brick
end stack at rear with recessed diaper panels, toothed brick cornice and
3 diagonally-placed brick shafts with oversailing tops. C19 two-light
wooden attic casement. Pair of segmental-headed ground-floor wooden
casements, 2-light to left and one-light to right. Steps up to central
segmental-headed 4-panelled door with C20 timber framed gabled porch.
Segmental-headed 2-light basement window to left and segmental-headed
basement door to right. Collar and tie-beam truss to front with
queen struts and V-struts. Late C19 gabled addition to right with
segmental-headed 2-light attic casement. Interior not inspected.
