Details
BASCHURCH C.P. YEATON SJ 41 NW 17/47 Yeaton House - 27.5.53 GV II House. Late C18 with later additions and alterations. Red brick; machine tile roof with wide tapering external end stacks. 3 storeys with stepped eaves cornice. 3 windows; glazing bar sashes, those to first floor with louvred shutters. Early C20 canted bay windows to either side of central entrance: recessed 6-panel door (upper panels now glazed) with semi-circular fanlight and wrought-iron balcony with open quatrefoil patterns to first- floor window. Lower service range to left has tall integral end stack with moulded capping. Various C19 outbuildings attached to rear. Interior. Dog-leg staircase in central hall has slender turned balusters with fluted and twisted decoration, 2 to each tread (open string); moulded handrail. Left ground-floor room has 4-panel door in eared architrave, moulded dado panelling and oak floor boards. Second-floor rooms said to have cast- iron Coalbrookdale fireplaces. C20 conservatory attached to front of service range is not of special architectural interest.
