5/18 Little Goddards 30 metres NE of Goddards -

House. C17 and early C19, lately extended to S over garage. Timberframed with weatherboarded gable but front cased in painted rendered brickwork with parapet. Modern S wall in painted brickwork. Old red tiled roof gabled on N but on S hipped with a gable. Flat roof (?) to S altered behind extended parapet. A 2 storeys 4-window house facing E with entrance in N end and double garage doors under S window. Recessed sash windows with segmented arched heads and 8/8 panes. The parapet has a continuous recessed panel with vertical half-round uprights at intervals within it. The house has a large central square chimney and the windows are irregularly spaced. 4-panel door on N end next front corner under a modern porch abutting the adjoining house to the N. An historic C17 village house extended in the early C19 and forming a prominent landmark on the bend of the road. Part of a varied group in this part of the Conservation Area.
