Monument. Early C20. White marble, has stone, bronze dated. A figure of St Michael about 3 metres high. possibly
Italian carved, carrying a finely worked bronze sword, point down, with Ham stone kerb surround to large plot.
Commemorates Alexander Nelson Viscount Bridport, Duke of Bronte, died 1904. A note in the church states that for many
years the statue was laid flat, as the white figure at night scared too many locals! This monument included to complete
the collection of Hood and Nelson monuments in St Thomas' Church (qv).
