WEST COKER CP HIGH STREET (South side) ST5113 9/276 The Royal George Public House - - II
Cottage, now a public house. C17. Local stone rubble coursed, with Ham stone dressings; double Roman clay tile roof between stepped coped gables; brick end chimney stacks. 2-storeys, 3-bays. Hollow chamfered mullioned windows of 4-lights (3-lights above central doorway), with old iron opening lights and catches; chamfered cambered arched doorway with incised spandrils, framing a boarded door; label over the doorway which may be a continuous label shaved off over windows. 2-light matching window to East gable; to West a single storey extension with plain clay tile roof, 2 raked buttresses and casement windows; further C19 extensions behind. Interior not fully examined, but a good cambered arched fireplace with incised spandrils remains on East wall, with staircase aperture alongside; some early cupboards and panelling.
