(Formerly listed as The Stretton Highwayman Public House, GREAT NORTH ROAD (West side))

Former public House of 1780 with extension c1800. Coursed rubble stone with quoins, stone dressings and sills, and Collyweston slate roof with rendered central ridge and right end stacks and stone left end stack. 2½ storeys of sash windows. From left : a 2 storey canted bay with hipped roof and 6/6 sashes; flat roofed porch with glazed sides and 2 leaved door; 6/6 sash over; a tripartite 4/4 : 6/6 : 4/4 sash both floors; a 6/6 sash both floors; coat of arms; and a tripartite 4/4 : 6/6 : 4/4 sash both floors. 3 dormers with C20 windows on roof of left half. On left end a 6/6 sash both floors. At main roof cornice level over front door is painted 'This is the New Inn 1780'. C18 staircase and c1800 staircase inside. Formerly known as New Inn Farm and The Stretton Highwayman, and an important coaching inn.
