9/72 Grove Farmhouse -
GV II
Farmhouse, now house. Late C17 with late C19 and mid- to late C20 alterations and additions. Timber framed on dressed sandstone plinth with painted brick nogging, rendered to front; extended in painted brick; plain tile roof. 2 framed bays with later additions to left. 2 storeys. External brick end stack to right, C20 brick ridge stack off-centre to left, roughly central brick stack just behind ridge, and integral lateral brick stack at rear. C20 small-paned 2-light metal casements, 4 to first floor and 6 to ground floor; roughly central boarded door with C20 wrought-iron porch. Rendered gable end to left with full-height canted bay and fire insurance plate in apex. 2 gabled wings at rear, one with C20 integral brick end stack. Interior not inspected but likely to be of interest.
