Details
FRODESLEY C.P. - SJ 59 NW 9/116 Bentley Ford Farmhouse - - II Shown on O.S. map as Bentleyford. Farmhouse. Mid-C17 with C19 alterations and mid-to late C19 refronting and additions. Timber framed on painted brick plinth, partly rebuilt in C18 and C19 painted brick; plain tile roof, with catslides over outshuts at rear. Baffle-entry plan of 4 framed bays aligned north- west/south-east; projecting staircase wing at rear. One storey and attic, over semi-basement at left. Three C19 full dormers with 2- light C20 casements; central brick ridge stack, external brick end stack to right, and brick lateral stack at rear to north-west. Framing: exposed at rear with square panels, 4 from sole-plate to wall-plate. 3-window front; C19 two-light wooden casements; C19 gabled brick porch between first and second windows from left has 5-panelled door with radial fanlight and chamfered reveals; boarded door to left. C20 flat- roofed conservatory in front to left with pair of half-glazed doors. Interior: single and paired chamfered spine beams; large open fireplace with depressed brick arch and salt cupboard; C17 boarded doors with wrought iron strap hinges.
