Road sign. Circa 1900. Cast iron post and arms. The circular post cast by Denning and Co of Chard, has a collar to support the s1eeved signs which drops onto the post, and a cunoid top: the direction plates are lipped, and rounded on all four corners: the eastern arm reads 'Winsham 1/Crewkern 7 1/2' and the southern arm 'Forde Abbey 1/2/Chard Junction 2': a later top arm pointing towards Chard has been snapped off. One of a few signs of apparenty pre-1907 pattern, (Bentley J.B and Murless B.J, Somerset Roads, SIAS, l985).
