The Old Vicarage
GV II House of C18 with wing of 1862. Red brick with stone quoins, brick band, moulded brick cornice and twin span hipped Collyweston slate roof. Massive brick central valley stack of a line of 7 square chamfered flues linked at top. 2 storey. Right side wall of rubble stone with 1862 wing extending right (C20 tile roof). The door is within the 2 arches of a C19 stone 2 storey extruded corner extension placed between original house and wing. Here stone mullion and transom windows. On main range to left a 2 storey C19 canted stone bay with hipped roof, and French window with 2/2 sash window over to right. However right side faces Main Street and rear the Church. Right side of 3 2/2 sashes over rectangular stone mullion bay and 2/2 sash, partly Welsh slate roof, from left: a 4-light mullion and transom window with similar 3-light over; a tripartite sash both floors, the upper a Venetian type window; and a 2/2 sash both floors with 2-light hipped dormer over. The house forms an important group with Church.
