TQ 05SW GUILDFORD EPSOM ROAD (North Side) Merrow 2/45 The Old Farmhouse 1/5/53

GV II House. Late C17, restored in C19. Red brick below with whitewashed render across the front; tile hung above with hipped, plain-tiled roofs. Two storeys with cellar below and attics above under two, tile-hung hip-roofed, leaded casement dormers. Stacks to left and right. Three square-pane leaded casement windows, slightly projecting, across the first floor, the outer ones 3-light; three cambered-head windows below. Door formerly to centre and now blocked by a window. New entrance in right hand return front in pent-roofed porch, two diamond-pane casements in the first floor above. Two C19 ground floor windows to right. Rear - double range roofs exposed, each hipped and with a hip-roofed dormer to the end. Interior:- Central lobby/corridor with stairwell. Turned balusters to staircase. Re-used timbers exposed in ground floor room, panelled dado in right hand room. Rear room (former kitchen?) with two chamfered principal joists. Some re-used panelling in first floor cupboards, and some of the older window fittings survive.
