House, formerly farmhouse. Mid-late C17, extended late C18/early C19,
further extended and altered late C19.
Coursed squared ironstone, red brick in irregular, chiefly stretcher bond,
slate roofs, brick ridge and lateral stacks.
L plan. 2 and 3 storeys; 6-window range.
Projecting cross wing to left has 3 storeys, canted bay window to ground
floor, wood mullion and transom window to 1st floor and 2-light casement
window to 2nd floor, both with stone lintels. 3-storey gabled porch or
stair turret in re-entrant angle to right of cross wing has C19 door with
ornamental hinges, overlight and stone lintel with hood mould, and 1-light
casements to 1st and 2nd floors with stone lintels. 2-storey, 4-window
brick range to right has wood mullion and transom windows to ground floor
with flat-arched brick lintels. 1st floor is an addition and has 2-light
casements with segmental-arched brick lintels. The rear wall of this range
is of coursed squared ironstone to wand floor with stone surround of
former 2-light stone mullion window to C20 with hood mould. Cross wing
extended or partly rebuilt in brick to rear.
