THIRLWALL B 6318 NY 66 NW and NY 66 NE (North and south sides, off) 10/34 and 11/34 Hadrian's wall, 24/11/67 milecastle and turrets I

Hadrian's wall; milecastle 47; turrets 47A and 47B. AD 122, reconstructed AD 205. Rubble core with dressed stone faces. Course of wall runs west from Holmhead (NY 659660) to Gilsland (NY 634662). Several short stretches of c.1.0- metre high wall masonry. Sites only of milecastle and turrets. Scheduled Ancient Monument.
