3/25 Church of St Denys (formerly listed as 25.3.68 Church of St Dennis)

Church largely C14 with C15 alterations and heavily restored 1872 and 1890. Blue lias rubble stone with red sandstone dressings. Nave with C14 South arcade and aisle, one small Norman window and Norman flat buttresses to North wall. Roofs, West window, South porch and arcade heavily renewed c.1890. C14 South transept with fine dec. South window and 2 2-light East windows under single rear arch. Chancel with late C14 or C15 East window and renewed South windows. Chamfered chancel arch dying into jambs. Roof c.1872. Fine North tower, 4 stage C14 and C15 battlements. Fragments of Cl5 glass in South tran- sept window heads. East window c.1850, chancel South windows c.1870. Fine C19 brass corona. Carved wood reredos c.1890.
