1/33 Stables, to the west of Langford Hall 16-1-67

Stables, c.1780/90. Probably by John Carr of York. Red brick under a hipped slate roof with an ashlar sill band. The north side has 5 bays, 1½ storeys, flanked by single bays of one storey. The central slightly projecting 3 bays are surmounted by a pediment with ashlar cornice. Over the central double door is a decorative panel and a traceried fanlight. Either side of the door is an arched glazing bar sash and a square headed glazing bar sash. Above 5 glazing bar sashes. The outer bays have a single casement window to the east and a single fixed window to the west. The south facade has a central panelled door with plain surround and brackets supporting a pediment, to either side are 2 glazing bar sashes with band running under. The 1st floor has a central clock set into a blocked-in window with 2 glazing bar sashes either side. There is a single storey brick and slate extension to the west with 2 small casement windows.
