School and master's house. 1874 dated on plaque on buttress.
Coursed squared tooled stone with alternating quoins and stepped
plinth to projections. Welsh slate roof with fancy clay ridge
tiles. Irregular U-plan. Eclectic mixture of Gothic and Italianate
styles. 1-storey 4-bay school at left, linked by square stair
tower to house of 2 storeys and attic, 2 bays at right.
School: wide projecting left wing has 4-light mullioned window with
2 transoms;-timbered gable end and bargeboards. Extruded porch on
right has segment-headed entrance with double roll moulding; and
pyramidal roof with spike finial. Left entrance extension has
doorway with 2-centred head. 3 narrow bays to right of wing are
divided by buttresses and hold large mullioned-and-transomed
windows. 3-storey stair tower has 2 narrow windows on each floor,
upper ones under pointed relieving arches; pavilion roof. Doorway
and large stack on right return. Swept eaves on brackets.
