GV II

Threshing barn with calf house. Later C18. Coursed herringbone- tooled sandstone. Pantiled roof with stone dressings. 2 storeys, 5 bays. Plinth. Opposed wagon doors. North-east front shows large rebated round-arched wagon entrance in second bay from left, with full-size stable-type doors. Ordinary stable door to left. Further right 2 more stable doors and a later sliding door. Pattern of vent slits. Stone gable copings and long, square-ended footstones; swept eaves. Loading door and vent slits in right return. Midstrey flanked by solid walls, that at right reaching to roof, that at left to first-floor level, dividing off the calf house. Plain tie-beam roof trusses and butt purlins. Rear shows vent slits and large wagon door, also a blocked doorway with window inserted. Small 1-storey 2-bay byre attached to west of barn is included for group value. Hayshed attached to rear of barn is not of special interest. L-shaped byre to north-east of barn has been partly rebuilt and is not of special interest.
