BURTON-CUM-WALDEN WALDEN HEAD SD 98 SE 5/29 Old building approximately 200 metres west of Kentuckey House 25.3.69 (formerly listed as Barn at Walden Head Farm) - II
House converted to agricultural use with outbuilding attached to east end. Late C16 - early C17 house, C19 alterations and outbuilding. 2-storey house, single-storey outbuilding. Whitewashed rubble, stone slate roof. House: 2 first-floor windows. Plinth of large boulders to most of house wall, rough quoins to right. Ground floor: 2 surrounds of 2-light double- chamfered mullion windows, blocked with brick. First floor: chamfered, round-headed single-light window; 3-light double-chamfered mullion window with wrought-iron stanchions on outer lights. To left, wall recessed with doorway. To right, outbuilding with segmental-arched cart-shed with rubble voussoirs and slab hoodmould. Rear, house: built into hillside, with chamfered single-light window to left on first floor.
