CROWLE CP CHURCH ROAD (east side) SO 95 NW 6/11 (23/8) Old Pear Tree Cottage 14.3.69 GV II
House. C17 with mid-C19 and mid-C20 alterations and additions. Timber- framed, painted brick infill, brick replacement walling and refacing, plain tiled roofs. Four framed bays aligned north/south, with probable through- passage bay second from north end, and large rebuilt external chimney to rear of third bay from north end; also external brick chimney to north side elevation; single storey and attic with dormers. Framing: three panels from sill to wall-plate, long straight braces in lower corners, collar and tie-beam truss with struts below collar and V-strut above in south gable end; rear wall-frame rebuilt in brick. West front elevation: irregular fenestration, seven ground floor windows, all with plank weatherings and having 2-light casements, the three in the north end bay set beneath continuous plank weathering; three full dormers; left one is C17 and central and right ones are C19; outer ones have paired 2-light casements and central one paired 3- light casements; entrance in through-passage position has a C20 door with lean- to canopy on brackets. Interior: roof has intermediate collar and tie-beam trusses with struts and a single tier of trenched purlins.
