II
House. Probably late C16, enlarged and refronted in mid-C18, with C19 addition. Brick in English bond, partly timber-framed with brick infill at rear, tiled roof, gable end parapets and external brick chimneys having tiled offsets and oversailing cap courses. Two storeys, attic with dormers, and cellar; dentilled eaves cornice. Three bays; all windows have stone sills and cambered heads, the arches of which are of orange brick stretchers and blue headers; 3-light casements throughout except for 2-light central first floor window; dormers have segmental heads; curved lead roofs and 2- light casements; central doorway with open pediment and pilasters, door of raised and fielded panels, and traceried segmental fanlight. Rear timber- framed wing, single framed bay with external gable end stack; two storeys; 2 rows of close-set vertical studding exposed at first floor level. Interior has a mid-C18 staircase with turned balusters. Rear wing has stop- chamfered cross-beamed ceiling. A late C19 wing adjoins the rear timber- framed wing.
