- II
Church, rebuilt 1773 on mediaeval site with Saxon origins. Tower 1817. Major alterations, 1895. Coursed squared stone with quoins. Welsh slate roof. West entrance in low, 2-stage battlemented tower. Nave and chancel, 3 bays each. Perpendicular tracery to square-headed windows. Large buttress in chancel arch position is remnant of former north porch. Date plaque on east gable: This part of the Church was built 1773. Venetian east window below. Interior: upper part of Norman pillar piscina remains from old church, and some pieces of Saxon carving; also a column or cross base. Oak screen with perpendicular detail, west gallery and organ from Selby Abbey.
