KYRE CP BROMYARD ROAD (east side) SO 66 SW 6/18 The Lodge and Lodge Cottage (formerly listed as The 18.4.66 Lodge)

Lodge to Kyre Park, now divided into two houses. Mid-C18 with mid-C19 and mid-C20 alterations. Handmade brick with plain tiled roof, and parapet at front and at gable ends; brick stack at right end of ridge and external brick stack, with tiled offsets at left end. Two storeys and attic with dentilled eaves cornice at base of front parapet. Three bays; central bay projects slightly and has an open pedimented gable above it surmounted by a square finial. Windows are all C20 replacements. Outer bays have 2-light ground floor casements with gauged flat heads and Venetian windows on the first floor with arched brick heads. There is a similar window on the first floor of the central bay which has a projecting keyblock to the arched head. Within the pedimented gable above is a Diocletian window, also with a keyblock projecting from its arched surround. On the ground floor is a large round- headed archway with keyblock and imposts and in a recessed area of walling within the archway is the main entrance which has a gauged flat head and C20 door. Attic lights in gable ends. Rear wing and lean-to addition with cat- slide roof. C20 lean-to addition at left end.
