GV II
House. Early C19. Painted walls, of stone, stucco and brick, with a low-pitched hipped slate roof. A square block, with a lower wing at the east side; 2 storeys. 2 windows to each of the 3 facades. The main walls are ashlar (of almost square blocks), and smooth stonework is used for a moulded eaves fascia, 1st floor band, plinth, the openings having in each case a flush plain architrave, thin moulded cornice, and plain cill. Coupled Gothic casements to the 1st floor, deep ground floor lights: at the south side opening into a glazed conservatory, on the west with a filled window at the north side. The north elevation has a Victorian brick porch (east side) with 2 arches (1 a window), leading to the original, now inner, doorway, with a pointed arch, double doors, Gothic ½-glazing with decorative glass. The lower east side is masked on the north front by a dipping parapet: on the south side it has a hipped roof, a pointed lower window, and ½-glazed doorway. Inside, there are late- Regency/early Victorian features, including a staircase, ceiling cornices, and a fireplace.
