Details

GRINTON HARKERSIDE SE 09 NW 16/39 Plaintree House - II Farmhouse now farm buildings. House C17, with C18 alterations. Rubble, stone slate roof. 2 storeys. 2 first floor windows. Large central projecting pent porch with doorway and small window, inner doorway has been moved slightly to right. Windows originally mullioned, since altered. On ground floor, to left blocked fire window, 3-light window converted to square sash to left of porch, blocked 2- or 3-light window to right of porch. First floor has been raised, now with two 4-pane sashes, and blocked single-light window at original level over original doorway. Crude kneelers, copings, 2 end stacks. Rear: evidence of shallow projecting stair turret; added outshut with end fireplace. Interior: all 4 rooms were heated.
