House, divided into two dwellings. Probably C16, enlarged early C17, altered mid-C18 and late C19; restored C20. Timber-framed with brick and rendered infill, brick replacement walling and refacing, plain tiled roofs. Main range of three framed bays aligned north/south now cased and partly rebuilt in brick and having two large external chimneys with off-sets at rear and a rebuilt porch wing to west elevation, possibly in former through-passage position; smaller north end bay intersects with two framed bay cross-wing. Main part is two storeys and attic; cross-wing is single-storey and attic with dormers.

Framing: cross-wing has three rows of panels from sill to wall-plate and short straight upper braces at gable ends; north wall was rebuilt in C19; south side wall is of two rows of close-set vertical studs; collar and tie-beam trusses with close-set studding above and below collar at both gable ends. Two-storey porch wing to main part is early C17, rebuilt C20; the upper floor is supported on timber posts and has two rows of panels and a collar and tie-beam truss with two struts and concave-sided V-strut in apex.

West front elevation: main part has C20 leaded casements; ground floor has a three-light, a two-light and two single-light casements with cambered heads; first floor has two two-light casements, one having a cambered head, and two rectangular lights. Central C20 gabled timber-framed porch and door; first floor of former porch has C20 lights, two to front and one to right side; cross-wing gable end has tiled weatherings above collar and tie-beam and an attic light. North elevation of cross-wing has main entrance to other dwelling.

Interior: main part has roof with two tiers of purlins and retains its collar and tie-beam trusses apart from south end truss. Cross-wing has intermediate collar and tie-beam truss with struts and scarf-jointed purlins; large C19 fireplaces against each gable end wall with brick stacks.

The building is part of the former Bearcroft Estate.
