Details
HIGH STREET 1. 1501 (North Side) No 6 SU 7423 3/50 II 2. C17 house with early C19 brick front. High pitched tiled roof partly hidden behind parapet. 2 storeys, 2 late C19 canted bay windows. Early C19 door, with upper part now glazed, in deep, panelled reveal. Late C19 hoods on brackets over door and first floor window. West side shows some timber framing with rough-cast filling. Part of 1st floor is tile-hung and contains slightly curved, early C19 sash window. At North end a room of Regency period with semi-circular end, under low-pitched, rounded slate roof, and domed ceiling inside. This has round-arched double door in reeded architrave with paterae at spring; and slightly curved sash window with Gothic glazing. The timbered West section has 3 casement windows, early C19 and restored.
