Details
SU 62 SW CORHAMPTON & MEONSTOKE BUCK'S HEAD HILL 4/31 Church of St Andrew Andrew 6.3.67 II* Parish church. C13, C15 west tower, upper part of tower and the porch c1900. Walls of flint with stone dressings, stepped buttresses, original lancets to chancel and Victorian traceried windows. Tile roof. Chancel, nave of four bays with north and south aisles, west tower, south porch. Much of the surfaces of the building is Victorian. The tower has diagonal (and different) stepped buttresses, a roof of two stages with wood panels, having cusps and quatrefoils. Inside, there is a C13 arcade with alternate round and octagonal columns. Blocked clerestory with quatrefoil openings and a C19 chancel arch. There is a Norman Purbeck font with corner pillars missing, a Jacobean pulpit, a painted medieval consecration cross, a Royal Coat of Arms of GR, wall monuments and two medieval tomb slabs.
