HANBURY CP WALLHOUSE LANE (north side) SO 96 SE 4/146 Granary about 30 yards west of Brickley Farmhouse - II

Granary. Mid-C18 with mid-C19 alterations. Part timber-framed with brick infill, part brick, half-hipped plain tiled roof. Two bays aligned east/west; two levels, lower level was open for cart storage with upper level supported on square brick piers at sides; openings now have boarded infill. Framing: truncated collar and tie-beam truss with struts at west gable end. East gable end is rebuilt in brick. Windows at each gable end. Steps in east bay lead to upper level. Interior: roof has a single tier of purlins and an intermediate collar and tie-beam truss with raking struts. A C19 lean-to extension adjoins the east gable end. The granary forms a group with Brickley Farmhouse (qv).
