LONDON ROAD 1. 5236 (South East Side) Holybourne The Lawn SU 7340 1/15 15.5.51. II 2. Early C19. 2 storeys; 3 bays wide. Colour-washed brick; hipped slate roof. Ground floor with central original glazed door with radiating fanlight in architrave surround and within a slightly later porch with moulded cornice and, left and right, a single canted bay window running through 2 storeys. Interior with early C19 stair and fireplaces. Mrs Gaskell died here in 1865. Extensive modern additions to the left.
