3/34 Hall Place 31.7.63 GV II

Georgian house. 1790, with late C19 rear extensions. Painted brick walls in Flemish bond, 1st floor band, slightly-cambered openings to the ground-floor, high plinth. The roof is a hipped mansard (double pile to the upper part) and there is a moulded eaves cornice. South front: symmetrical of 2 storeys, 2.1.2 windows, with slightly-projecting centrepiece. Sashes in reveals. Doric doorcase, with open pediment, ¾ plain columns, arched opening with rediating fanlight and panelled reveals, 6-panelled (2 top glazed) door, above a flight of 8 stone steps, curling outwards at the bottom and having wrought-iron rails. The service wing at the rear extends from the west end, with plain vernacular features, with a solid verandah; the east side is later with a tile-hung upper floor. Interior: staircase, panelled doors in architraves.
