GV II

House, gallery and shop. Early to mid-C19. Brick with ashlar dressings;
partly hipped slate roof and brick stacks. Three storeys. Two bays.
Windows all have rusticated lintels and dropped keyblocks. There is one
ground floor and two first floor 12-pane sashes and two second floor 9-pane
sashes. The ground floor window is flanked by two entrances; both have moulded
flat canopies on console brackets, fluted pilasters, flush panelled jambs and
soffit (No 3 doorcase only has flush panelled soffit) and doors with four flush
panels. The north-east corner is canted and has a first floor 12-pane sash
and a second floor 9-pane sash. There is a C19 shop front on the ground floor
which is continued around part of the north front and east side of the building.
It is simply detailed and has a central doorway with half-glazed double doors
and a transom light with margin-light glazing bars. The east side elevation
has a 12-pane sash on the ground and first floors and a 9-pane sash on the second
floor. Rear elevation has a ground floor oriel window.
