House. Probably late C18 to early C19 with earlier origins. Roughly coursed sandstone rubble with sandstone dressings. Hipped Welsh slate roof. Sandstone rear stacks with detached brick shafts. Roughly rectangular plan with main front to south. Three storeys. South elevation has three windows, glazing bar sashes with dressed lintels. Central doorway has semi-circular head with dressed voussoirs, two-leaved six-panelled door and fanlight. Four enriched oval tie-plates around central window. Moulded sandstone eaves cornice. North elevation has oval window to top landing between two projecting gables. Forward of the right gable is a low single- storey service wing. Interior has early C19 white marble fireplace in. principal west room with roundels to top corners, amber and ochre panels to surrounds and raised cast-iron hearth. Four-flight cantilevered staircase in oak with square section balusters. Wreathed handrail with ivory inlay at bottom. Balustrade curves out from well on the three half-landings. Carved tread ends and cast iron newel posts. The first landing has on its west side an integral early C19 display cabinet with glazing bars and three drawers.
