2. These 7 almshouses form one side of the square linking the 2 reflected sides at the top on level ground. 2 storeys, coursed and snecked rubble. 1 range of windows each, 2 light casements, with slightly cambered dressed stone lintels, mostly stilted. Central 4 light angled bay to No 20). Central and end gabled breaks. 2 gables over 1st floor windows on each side of centre. Brick lacing courses, stepped up to form panels on 1st floor of central gable. Wide doorways to Nos 18/19 and 21/22, all doors recessed and at right angles. Tiled roof with 3 course fish scale bands and diaper patterns. 3 large and 1 small panelled chimneys (altered). Moulded stone panel with tablet in gable of No 20 inscribed: "These 7 houses have been dedicated as almshouses for the use of old or disabled factory operatives and their widows. And the neighbouring 32 houses and land have been assured as endowment for the almshouses. This benefaction is given to the town of Westbury by William Henry Laverton Esq in memory of his late uncle Abraham Laverton Esq. November 27 1886.
