1/70 Brook Farmhouse -
- II
Farmhouse, early C16, greatly extended mid C17 and again in the early C19. 2 storeys and attics. Plain clay tiled roof. The south section added early C19, forming double-pile plan; red brick, 3 bays of sash windows, central panelled entrance door, 2 storeys, hipped slated roof. Later C19 red brick porch. The C16 core has timber framing exposed internally; complex rib-mouldings to first floor joists and rib-moulded beams. In the C17, a large axial chimney stack and parlour added to east end, and cross-wing to west end. Roof to main range has large principal rafters and joggled butt purlins. Various alterations at the rear, C19, in red brick.
