Country house, now house and clinic. C17, altered early and late C19. Limestone ashlar front, dressed limestone returns, hipped stone slate roof, stone stacks. Two-storey and attic, 3-window. Central 6-panelled door in bolection-moulded architrave with broken pediment and up rebuilt stone steps, 2-light ovolo-mullioned casement to left hand and 2-storey late C19 canted bay to right with ovolo-mullioned casements and trefoil-pierced parapet with initials BC (Bayfield-Clark family). First floor to left has ovolo-mullioned casement, two C19 shaped attic gables with 2-light mullioned casements, small gabled attic dormer between with single- ovolo-mullioned casement, coped verges all with ball finials. Late C19 added bay to right has first floor oriel and 2-light mullioned casement to attic gable. Left return has glazed door with segmental-pointed arch on attached shafts to left, 2-light casement to right; former C19 conservatory removed, first floor has two C17 cross windows and two blocked cross windows, moulded stone eaves cornice. Late C19 rear wing has square bay with mullioned casement and quatrefoiled parapet, 3-light mullioned casements to first floor, hipped Welsh slate roof. Right return of late C19 services has 2-light and 3-light mullioned casements and 6-panelled door in segmental-pointed architrave, two attic dormers with shaped gables, early C19 range to rear has 20 and 25-pane sashes. Interior retains early C19 stairs with stick balusters and wreathed moulded handrail, 6-panelled doors in moulded architraves, plaster ceiling cornices. Late C19 remodelling including some joinery and elaborate detail in reception room of clinic for example; plaster ceiling cornice with gothic detail, segmental-pointed rere-arch to external door on shafts. The Bayfield-Clark family were local industrialists who lived here in late C19.
