Details

CHITTERNE CHITTERNE ROAD ST 94 SE (west side) 4/21 Walls and gate piers to playing field (formerly listed with 24.7.69 Nos 37, 38 and 39) GV II Walls and gate piers to playing field. Late C17. Chequered flint and limestone to east and English bond brick or banded flint and stone to west side, saddleback stone coping. Chamfered rusticated stone gate piers with moulded capping and ball finials, wall extends approximately 60 metres to the left and about 10 metres to right, up to boundary with The Coach House (q.v.). Built as the boundary wall for the demolished house of the Michell family; see their monuments in Church of All Saints (q.v.).
