II
Probably originally a farmhouse; used as a public house until 1952. Now private residence. Late C16/early C17 with later C17 wing to rear. Small earlier core. Timber framed and plastered; roof of modern plaintiles. Cement render and glazed black pantiles to rear wing.
Half-H plan with flanking cross-wings set forward; the left wing has been extended forward at a later date. Two storeys and attics. Various windows. C19 small-paned sash windows to wings; early C20 tripartite sash window to ground floor of right wing; left wing has large mid C20 showroom window. Casement windows to centre range, with a good C18 or early C19 three-light window to the ground floor. C19 six-panel door (the upper two panels glazed). C20 open lean-to across centre. Between the hall and the parlour wing is an axial stack with four attached shafts arranged as a cross.
Interior somewhat altered, especially the left wing which has been gutted on the ground floor. Unusually long parlour, the whole of the ground floor of the right wing. Both hall and parlour have plain joists. At the rear of the left wing a small section of framing at a lower level than the main structure, presumably part of an earlier range. Roof over central range has clasped purlins and cranked wind-bracing.
