2/71 Red House Farm House - - II
Farmhouse, built as part of Home Farm to Thornham Estate. Mid C18, extended C19, altered C20. Red brick with flared headers. Hipped plaintiled roof. 5 bay lobby entrance plan with 2 wings to rear to form a half H. 2 storeys and attics. Ground floor: central entrance in a projecting C20 brick porch, 8 panelled door, tall 2-light glazing bar casements in shallow reveals with segmental heads. Offset plinth, continuous plat band to first floor with four 2-light glazing bar casements, central leaded cross casement. Boxed eaves. Central ridge stack. 3 bay returns with mixed casements; to left French windows, a first floor lattice leaded window and a 2-light box dormer, to right a C20 entrance with a half glazed architraved door. To rear 3 gables, taller outer gables have moulded kneelers to coped parapets, an internal end stack to left, central gable to C19 infill block with recessed segmental headed sashes, a lower pantiled roof, stack in left valley. Interior: ogee stop chamfered cross axial binding beams, runout chamfered joists.
