Originally a row of 5 almshouses, now 2 dwellings. Dated 1844 on the wings.
Knapped flint with white brick dressings. Fishscale slates on roof, except
for some plain slates of mid C20 date to rear. Single storey. A long range
with gabled cross-wings at either end and 3 small gables over doors in the
centre. 2 further gabled doorways in sides of wings, one extended mid C20 to
form a porch. Casement windows, 2 of 3 lights in wings, 4 of 2 lights in
centre, with segmental and shallow-pointed heads to each light; all are of mid
C20 date. 2 mid C20 boarded doors, the third doorway replaced by a window. 4
pairs of tall octagonal white brick chimneys, the bases set across the roof
ridge. Built by Sir Edward Kerrison for poor and aged persons of Hoxne
village, close to the site of the old guildhall.
